EdVEC is working with the Edinburgh Old Town renewal trust and the People's millenium project to produce a pilot study of a 3D model showing the development of Edinburgh's Old Town over the last 1000yrs. Initially this will consist of a number of discreet models produced from available photographs, maps and drawings.

The intention is to develop a number of tools which will assist in the creation of 3D models from available historical resources. Ultimately the model will be continuous ( a 4D model ) and be capable of animating through time.
